How family sessions work

Contact me to discuss a suitable date online (or secure your spot via the 'book me' tab. You will then be contacted to choose your location (local include no travel fees). To view location options please select the "Our Locations" tab at the top of my website. I offer Monday - Friday sessions only, as I spend the weekends with my own babies.

Your Relaxed Experience

There’s no pressure for perfect behaviour or stiff posing.

I gently guide your family while allowing space for natural interaction, play and real moments to unfold. Allowing for a variety between posed and prompts to create the best balance. Your session with include full family, and variations of mum with kids, dad with kids, parents only. Fuller sessions with extended families are run slightly differently due to larger size.

Selecting Your Images

After your session, you’ll receive a beautifully presented online gallery to select your favourite images from your chosen collection. Additional edited images and heirloom-quality prints are available if you wish to expand your gallery.

Treasure This Season

Your final edited images are delivered in high resolution, ready to print, frame and preserve for generations. These early days pass in a blur — your photographs become the piece you hold onto.

What age is best for a family session?

Family sessions are suitable for all ages — from babies who are sitting confidently through to older children and teenagers. Every stage of family life is worth documenting.

Where do sessions take place?

Sessions are held outdoors at carefully selected locations with beautiful natural light, or in-home for a more intimate, lifestyle feel. I’ll guide you in choosing the best option for your family.

What time of day are sessions scheduled?

Outdoor sessions are typically held during golden hour (shortly before sunset) for soft, flattering light. In-studio sessions are available at a variety of times.

What should we wear?

I recommend soft, neutral tones and relaxed outfits that allow movement and comfort. After booking, you’ll receive a detailed styling guide to help coordinate your family beautifully without matching too heavily.

What if my children don’t cooperate?

Please don’t worry — this is completely normal. My sessions are relaxed and child-led, allowing time for play, cuddles and breaks when needed. Some of the most meaningful images happen in between the “perfect” moments.

How long does a family session last?

Session duration depends on your chosen package, if unsure contact me to discuss your family size to ensure we allowing plenty of time for connection without overwhelming little ones. Typically the mini package is best for 4 particpants or less.

Can grandparents or extended family join?

Yes — extended family sessions can absolutely be arranged with the signiture and complete packages. Please let me know in advance so I can plan the session flow accordingly.

What happens if the weather is bad?

If conditions aren’t suitable, we simply reschedule to the next available date. Your experience and final images are always prioritised over rushing ahead in poor weather.

When will we receive our images?

Your gallery will be delivered within approximately 2–3 weeks after your session, presented in a private online gallery where you can select your collection and download your images.

How do we book?

Booking is secured with a session agreement and retainer fee ($150). Once confirmed, you’ll receive preparation information so you feel completely ready and relaxed leading into your session.

What payment methods do you accept?

I offer several payment options to make the process simple and flexible for families.

Bank transfer and cash payments are the fee-free preferred option.

Online card payments via your invoice is available and incur a 2% processing fee, which reflects the charge from my payment provider.

Afterpay is also available for eligible purchases, allowing you to spread payments over time in line with Afterpay’s terms. 10% surcharge applies
